‘Tij is a bird observatory built in the Scheelhoek nature reserve. BREED Integrated Design designed and calculated the wooden egg-shaped Zollinger construction using parametric models in Rhino in combination with Grasshopper and Karamba. This was done in cooperation with Geometria from Finland. The observatory was designed in collaboration with RO&AD Architecten and RAU Architects and was nominated by the public as for Building of the Year 2020 and has won the “ARC detail award” for its refined structural detailing.
