It’s not often that a structural engineer suggests removing all columns on the ground floor. This proposal by BREED Integrated Design enabled the architects from Powerhouse Company and RAU Architects to craft a unique spatial experience on each level.
Floor-to-ceiling trusses support the first floor, in addition to horizontale trusses, carry an 12×35 meters cantilevering floor. This offers an unobstructed view of the surrounding garden. Close collaboration between the architects, installation advisors and BREED Integrated Design led to a steel structure that is seamlessly integrated within the layout of the first floor and with extremely thin floors.
